LASER LEVEL IMPLEMENTATION
In 2019 we started the implementation of the LASER LEVEL in our operations, with the aim of obtaining significant improvements in the drilling and blasting process. The initiative has been promoted by the Innovation and Continuous Improvement team and led by the Residences of each unit.
To date, the mining units in which the implementation has been carried out are:
- 2019: Raura (November) and Yauli (December)
- 2020: Cerro Lindo (January)
Operators and assistants were trained in all guards. Subsequently, tests were performed with the device inside the mine.
Among the main benefits of the implementation, we can mention:
- Reduction of mesh paint time by 50%.
- Less overweight.
- Haul travel reduction.
- Impact on safety (lower exposure of workers).
How does the laser level work?
With this device, the gradient and the direction point are projected and painted on the leading front; The marking of the perforation mesh is then carried out, considerably reducing the time in this process. Consequently, there is better control of deviations in project execution. In the same way it is used to paint the degree, thus giving a better quality of work.
It is important to monitor the results to provide timely support and ensure the success of this initiative. Subsequently, all the units where we operate will be deployed.
